Summerfest 2010 - Sunday, August 1

The Southern Ontario Orchid Society is pleased to announce that Fred Clarke, of Sunset Valley orchids will be our guest speaker at this year's Summerfest. This annual event is open to all SOOS members, as well as to bona fide members of other orchid societies. As this event is held on the August long weekend - Sunday, August 1, 2010 - it is not too early to plan your own calendar around this event.

Fred will be making 2 presentations:

• “Today's Mini and Compact Cattleyas”
• “New Hybrids with Catasetum , Cycnoches and Mormodes ”

As well, he will be bringing orchids for sale. If you pre-order, there will be a 10% discount. (Details below.)

Please make sure that you check the SOOS website for more details as August 1 approaches. This is the meeting where we provide the BBQ-ables, and you bring in a dish for our attendees to share.

• Placing orders before July 19 (pre-orders):

• then, send Fred an email ( fred.clarke@att.net ) or phone him ( 760-310-0778 ) to place an order
• the drop-dead date for these orders is July 19
• payment will be made when Fred delivers the plants at Summerfest, on August 1.
• Purchasing when Fred is at Summerfest: he will have plants with him for Summerfest attendees to purchase
